OBNE Dark Light – Limited Edition Dual Reverb pedal announced
Old Blood Noise Endeavors has just announced the launch of their latest Dark Light Dual Reverb, set to start shipping in mid-January 2024.
OBNE Dark Light
This Old Blood Noise Endeavors Dark Light dual reverb pedal is a limited edition of 2000 units. The company is expecting to deliver them in January 2024 and today launched a very odd video to accompany the pre-order/release.
It is based on the combination of two existing reverb pedals from OBNE: the Dark Star which has rich, pitch-shifted, delayed, and bit-crushed reverb tones, and the Sunlight which is known for its luminous, modulated, comb-filtered, and bandpassed reverbs. Hence the Dark and Light sides of this new combined dual reverb.
The pedal has independent wet and dry volume controls for each side, updating the previous Mix control. Along with Spread control to seamlessly merge Dark Star and Sunlight’s outputs. Then there is a Hold switch for creating continuous reverb trails, along with a Hold toggle to select between Dark Star, Sunlight, or both.
The pedal also features an Exp jack input that enables control over various parameters through an external expression controller. There are independent input and output routing for each pedal, with automatic parallel mono for single plug-ins.
Finally, it has soft-touch bypass footswitches with true bypass, and reduced switch noise. Power requirements are a 9V DC centre-negative 2.1mm jack power supply, capable of 150mA.
The artwork for Dark Light was created by Jon Carling.
As the official OBNE video is a little odd and very trippy, it is hard to say exactly how this pedal will sound. Though, I would hazard a guess, that they will be great for getting creative with.
Pre-orders are open now and available currently via the OBNE site. Expect shipping in the latter half of January 2024.
MSRP – USD 350.00
